Are Johnnie's sandwiches smaller now?
It looks as if Johnnie's has slightly smaller sandwiches. I guess the recession is taking a bite out of everyone. Ya still call out your order: Beef ! Sweet ! Ice ! Still delicious. Same big taste. They still have the long lines out the door. And it's a favorite among the local birds, too.

House of Fortune is a welcome winner.
In Chicago's Chinatown, my first restaurant choice opened in 45 minutes. So instead of waiting, I came to the House of Fortune. What good luck. A clean, comfortable place, and everyone was very welcoming. Great start. I was their first customer of the day. There was a nice small touch of corn and chicken in the very flavorful egg-drop soup. It was served with a flat crab rangoon, pretty good too. The Governor Chicken was very tasty, with green peppers, tiny corncobs, and a unique sweet sauce. For $5.50, the lunch portions were very generous. My House of Fortune cookie: Your talents will prove to be especially useful this week.
